Pentecost Service – May 24, 2026

Join us at Trinity Lutheran Church this Sunday at 9:30am for our service celebrating Pentecost.  Pentecost is originally a Jewish holiday to celebrate 50 days after the start of the barley harvest.  The significance to today’s Christians comes from the coming of the Holy Spirit to the apostles on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-4.

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.  And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.  And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

This followed the Ascension of our Lord into heaven and is spoken about by Minister Ryan Hoffart in his May 17th sermon.  You can go see it on Trinity’s YouTube site:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ9kzsWLWGA

This service is celebrated with the altar decorated in red, along with everyone wearing red to the service to signify the tongues of fire representing the Holy Spirit.

Don’t forget to wear red!
